Description
The BASS team is seeking an experienced General Manager (GM) for an outstanding Direct Hire position with our client in the Greater Eddington/Ellsworth, ME area. If you are a results driven leader, this opportunity is for you.

This position is a hands-on GM overseeing multiple aspects of a successful, well established business in specialty products. You will oversee business operations, hiring and leading staff, monitor costs, identify process improvements, build and support client relationships, and much more.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
-Oversee day to day operations
-Ability to delegate responsibilities.
-Lead, motivate and support team to achieve company goals
-Ensure impeccable customer service
-Maintain proper staffing levels; hiring, training, and encouraging employee development.
-Create and review budgets; oversee financial activity
-Oversee inventory levels and product ordering
-Assist in developing potential marketing strategies
-Travel 2-3 times a year for trade shows
Requirements
-5+ years proven management experience, strong business acumen
-Effective communication skills, both written and oral
-Leadership skills to motivate and build team to achieve company goals
-Problem solving skills
-Project management skills
-Bachelor’s degree in Business preferred.
-Must have valid Driver's License and meet background requirements

Retail General Manager in Bar Harbor, ME
Description
Direct Hire Opportunity!! BASS is recruiting for an experienced General Manager to run a busy retail establishment selling gifts, apparel, and souvenirs in beautiful Bar Harbor, Maine. Get paid year round with only working 9 months! The ideal candidate will lead by example, working shoulder to shoulder with their team to ensure customers receive friendly service, that the store is well stocked, and that a teamwork atmosphere is created. Housing stipend available after evaluation period requirements met.

The GM will manage daily operations with duties to include:
-Learning all aspects of the business
-Training of staff members
-Ensuring accurate management of funds
-Tracking inventory
-Maintaining a clean environment
-Making sure all policies are being followed
-Scheduling
Requirements
-Excellent customer service and people skills
-Previous Management experience, retail clothing preferred.
-Foster a positive and collaborative environment.
-Training skills to support and educate employees; delegation skills.
-Must be able to work a variety of day, night, weekend, holiday shifts
-Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-Must be able to meet and/or exceed customer expectations
-Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 40-50 lbs.

This salaried position has higher hours during peak tourist season (approximately May through October) and reduced hours the remainder of the year; Or take 3 months off in off-season.
